ODESSA TOWNSHIP PUBLIC NOTICE
Applications for Deferment of Summer 2025 Taxes
Odessa Township, Ionia County is currently accepting applications for SUMMER 2025 tax deferments (deferments are not exemptions). To qualify, a household annual income cannot exceed $40,000. The applicant(s) must also be:
- 62 years of age or older, including the unmarried surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years or older at the time of death.
And/or
- Paraplegic, Hemiplegic or Quadriplegic
- Eligible Service person, Eligible Veteran, Eligible Widow or Widower,
- Blind Person
- Totally and Permanently Disabled.
Those that farm agricultural real property may also qualify, if the gross receipts of agricultural or horticultural operations in the previous year (or the average gross receipts for such operations in the previous three years) are not less than the household income for the preceding calendar year or the combined household incomes in the previous year of the individual members of a limited liability company that owns the agricultural real property.
Deferments can only be filed and dated from 7/1/25 thru 9/15/25. Deferments must be filed annually. Postmarks will not be accepted. This defers the due date of the SUMMER PROPERTY TAXES without penalty or interest charges until February 18, 2026.
